Is Heaven Your Home?

We live in a society that has become captivated with bad news. Killings, rapes, missing people, robbery, petty theft and many other "bad news" issues. Most people welcome some "good news." The Bible is an honest book and shows people as they actually are, warts and all. Yet this same Bible shows man in his sinfulness and in need of redemption. This is the Good News, there is a remedy for the sinfulness of man. This is where Christmas comes in.

The Christmas time is always a special time for families to get together and exchange gifts and enjoy each other. Yet God has provided a special gift for men, women, youth, and children. It is the gift of eternal life. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Most do not think of "everlasting life." People live for the now! Yet the now can turn in to eternity rather quickly. What are you living for? Do you know you need everlasting life (eternal life). You are going to live somewhere forever. The only two options are heaven or hell. Hell is described in the Bible as a place of "torment" or a place of "flames" (see:Luke 16:19-31). Read below how one can prepare for eternity by believing the Gospel and receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. There are four things you need to know from the Bible to have assurance that when YOU die YOU will go to Heaven.

You need to know EVERYONE IS A SINNER, ROMANS 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." The reason that we "come short" of God's glory (God's righteous or perfect nature) is because all have sinned. ALL includes everyone, including YOU.

EVERYONE owes a sin debt. ROMANS 6:23a, "For the wages [penalty or debt] of sin is death."This is speaking of ETERNAL DEATH which is also called the "second death." REVELATION 20:14says, "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire, this is the second death." You must realize that if you die in your sin, ehtn you must pay the penalty for sin by dying in Hell - forever!

EVERYONE'S sin debt has been paid, ROMANS 6:23b, "...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Notice - Eternal Life is NOT-

1 going to church

2. being baptized

3. being a good person. BUT

"THROUGH JESUS CHRIST" ROMANS 5:8 says, "But God commeneth His love toward us, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." You must believe that Jesus has paid the wages of sin by dying for YOU. Eternal life is only through Him.

EVERYONE can be saved. Although Jesus died to pay everyone's sin debt, not everyone is on their way to Heaven. You must personally receive God's GIFT of eternal life. You must believe what Jesus has done for you, and ask Him to save you. ROMANS 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." ROMANS 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved."If you would like to trust Jesus Christ as Saviour, simply bow your head right now and humbly:

1. Admit to God you are a sinner.

2. Tell Him you believe Jesus died for you.

3. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and save your soul.

4. Tell Him you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour.

Then you must believe that He promised to save you:

1 JOHN 5:13 says, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life."

JOHN 5:24 says, "Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that heareth my word, and beleiveth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation: but is passed from death unto life."
